Clue #1 The one that got away

Head to the Asia Trail to find the animal that has adapted to its life in tropical wetlands. With so much water around no wonder it has figured out how to eat even without a tackle box.

Clue #4 Don’t get too sappy


Head to the Small Mammal House to find an animal that has adapted to eating sap from the trees in South America.

Clue #5 Lazy Hunter


Head to the Reptile House to find one animal that has adapted to hunting the lazy way.

Is it an alligator or is it a turtle? Whatever it is it hunts by keeping its nose above water, its mouth wide open and uses its tongue to catch its prey. But how has its tongue adapted?

O) The tongue looks like a worm so it attracts prey that want to eat it.
P) The tongue is very long and is sticky so it catches insects underwater.
Q) The tongue is bright blue and looks like a fish to some birds that eat small sardines.

Clue #8 Living with Floods

Head to Amazonia and find the section that talks about the importance of floods in the Amazon. You will need to be able to answer the following questions:

2) How do fish benefit from living in a flooded forest?
3) How do trees survive during the flooded months?
Act like a reporter for the Nature Channel in which you are doing a show on adaptation in the Amazon. Shoot a short video in which you explain the answers to these questions.



Clue #9 A Swinging Affair


Head to Ridge where the Primates live.

Living up in the trees means that Gibbons have to develop many adaptations on how they move.
